Paperless eCoupons – Free Coupons that You Don’t Have to Print

Have you heard about, or used, the new paperless coupon company called SavingStar?  They recently launched. SavingStar makes it really super to save money on groceries.

This is another way to be frugal and practice frugal living!

SavingStar’s e-coupons aren’t printable coupons. In fact, they’re totally paperless. There’s nothing to clip or print because the coupons are 100% digital. Plus they will work at over 100 grocery store chains in 24,000 stores across the nation.

Here’s how it works:

First, just select all of the e-coupons you want from the website, or from the mobile app, and they will then automatically be linked to your store card, right then.

Next, when checking out at the grocery store, simply use your card at the checkout and the money is added into your SavingStar account. Unlike tradittional printable coupons, when you use the SavingStar card, the savings won’t change your grocery bill amount at the register and the amount you save isn’t printed on the receipt. Instead, the amount you save each time you use your card at the checkout gets deposited into your SavingStar account within 2-30 days, depending upon where you shop.

Last, once your SavingStar account reaches at least $5 in savings, you can pick your payout from a bank account deposit, a PayPal account deposit, an Amazon gift card, or a use it to make a donation to charity.

Couponing Strategies for Families on a Food Budget

In today’s economy, it’s rare to find a family that’s not on a food budget. The family food shopper searches for any way possible to cut back on the amount of money spent on food. One of those ways is using coupons.

Conservatively speaking, there are millions of coupons circulating every day that could cut your food budget by 30 to 50% – even more if you’re using extreme couponing tactics.

Even the casual coupon clipper can become quite successful overnight at saving money using coupons. And with more work and dedication, become an extreme couponer. You have to be patient, flexible, and perhaps give up your favorite brand, but it can be done and you can save a lot of money.

Remember, coupons are designed to sell a certain product and get you in the store, but if the item is not one you need and use, then saving money on that item is a moot point.

Food coupons can be found anywhere. The Sunday newspaper is usually the best source but also look on line, at public libraries and at coupon swap boxes at the store itself. Some stores issue coupons at checkout for use on your next trip. Be sure and note expiration dates and if a cash value is offered. Don’t let them expire and go to waste.

Organize before you shop. Keep coupons sorted by food type in an easy to search through container such as a coupon binder. Using a zipper coupon binder makes it easy and quicker to shop. Match coupons with store sales for extreme couponing. Always have a grocery list. Some coupons also have mail in rebates.

Sign up for a store loyalty card that usually offers coupons plus bonus points that are cumulative each time you shop. Using a store’s own credit card can lead to double points and free item coupons.

When you combine regular coupons with sale prices, you’re becoming an extreme couponer. If a coupon item is not on sale and it’s not an urgent buy, wait until it’s on sale for maximum savings. Be on the lookout for sales and bonus points tags.

Compare store ads and online store ads. It may pay you to drive to more than one store if it’s an item you need and you have a coupon and it’s not available anywhere else. But, before you burn up extra gas, ask if the store honors its competitor’s coupons. Many will do this just to keep you in the store. You can call ahead to save a trip.

Don’t be susceptible to the 2 for $1 marketing tool unless it’s to your advantage with a coupon and it’s on sale. If you need two of the item go ahead and buy them but save by buying only one if that’s what you need. For example, the sign may read: 15 limes for a dollar. Unless you’re a big lime user, some could go bad before you use them.

There was a time when some shoppers felt using coupons was not appreciated by the grocer and hesitated to use them. They didn’t want to hold up the line while the checker scanned coupons. Some people still feel that way. But with the high cost of groceries and with the economy not getting any better, use your coupons and hold up the line!

Couponing is so much faster and easier today, expecially with the popularity of computers and the internet. Make use of couponing sites and coupon databases to help with your extreme couponing.

Some of these couponing strategies may not be right for you… everyone’s different. It takes practice and patience, trial and error. If stretching your food dollar is your goal, using coupons can help you save a lot of money on groceries and your food bill.
